More than 8,000 people came to the tour's fifth stop in this community still dealing with the aftermath of last November's Christmas parade tragedy. While the attack has left lasting scars in the community, some saw Franklin Graham’s visit as an opportunity to bring the peace of Jesus Christ into a dark situation.

Some volunteers drove hours to serve at the evangelistic event. One prayer volunteer, Linda, listened to Billy Graham sermons the whole two-hour drive to the Flint venue, saying it “fills my mind with Jesus and God’s Word.”

The Newsboys’ keyboardist, Jeff Frankenstein, was born and raised in Michigan. From stage, he told fellow Michiganders he went on field trips to the exact venue where the God Loves You Tour stopped Thursday.

began Sept. 24 with crisp fall weather, ominous clouds filled the sky ahead of the following stop in York, Pennsylvania. But a light drizzle didn’t stop more than 9,000 people from turning out for encouraging music and messages.
York, Pennsylvania:

“The devil wants you to think, ‘You’re too dirty. [Jesus Christ] won’t forgive you of your sins,’” Franklin Graham warned the York crowd. “That’s just a lie. He’ll forgive you tonight.”

Over 54% of Allentown’s population is Hispanic, and the evidence is all around the city in the form of cafes, restaurants, and churches. At the first four stops on the tour, Spanish speakers can hear a simultaneous translation through their cellphones.

Before leading familiar worship songs in Spanish, Marcos Witt referenced Revelation 7:9: “Behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb" (ESV).
