Franklin Graham led a Prayer March in Washington, D.C., last fall. Now he's asking Christians to pray and stand up against a bill that goes to the Senate for a vote.

“Do not be conformed to this world…”
Romans 12:2

Franklin Graham was a guest on the Huckabee show March 15 to talk about the Equality Act awaiting debate in the U.S. Senate.

Former Arkansas governor and commentator Mike Huckabee posed the question: “Equality sounds like something that we all ought to be for. What’s wrong with this Equality Act?”

Franklin Graham has been speaking out against this piece of legislation that—as nice as it may sound—is a threat to people of faith nationwide.

“This is government trying to replace God,” Franklin Graham said on the show. “They’re wanting to be the god in our life. They want to dictate the moral standards, what we believe and don’t believe, and then punish us if we don’t conform.”

For weeks, Franklin Graham has encouraged Americans to contact their U.S. senators and ask them to vote no against H.R. 5, also known as the Equality Act.

On the Huckabee show, he urged Christians to “stand up and let their voices be heard.” What a statement it would make, he said, if Washington, D.C., lawmakers were flooded with letters against this bill.

Though promoted as an anti-discrimination bill, the Equality Act would discriminate against faith-based entities and put religious liberty at stake for millions across America, Franklin Graham said.

“For churches, we would be required to hire people that would not necessarily agree with what we believe,” he said.

Biological males who identify as females would also be able to participate in female sports.

Franklin Graham shared with Huckabee about his granddaughter who recently got a soccer scholarship for college.

“I just think of women who have worked so hard at sports, for their titles, for the records that they have set, that a guy could come in and break those records and take that away from them,” he said.

Franklin Graham has urged Christians to pray for God’s intervention and mercy in the days ahead so our nation’s religious freedoms will remain intact.
