Will Graham: Driving Toward the Goal

But from an eternal perspective, the Bobcats’ “Faith and Family Night” featuring Will Graham was a smashing success.

Approximately 2,500 of the fans who attended the game stayed to enjoy a post-game concert by Christian band BarlowGirl, along with a challenging and uplifting message from Will Graham, grandson of Billy Graham and oldest son of Franklin Graham.

Graham spoke for about 25 minutes, encouraging the audience to consider their purpose in life and their need for a relationship with their Creator.

“The Bible says that our sin separates us from God,” said Graham. “So how can we have a relationship with a Holy God if our sin keeps us far from Him? God sent his Son, Jesus, to provide a way on the cross so that man and God could be reconciled once and for all.”

As Graham concluded his message, he asked those who wanted to put their faith in Jesus Christ to move toward a special area in the concourse behind the lower level arena seating. He left the basketball court and walked up the stairs through the audience and greeted those assembled.

Before leading them in a prayer of salvation, Graham said, “My friends, you have made an incredibly important decision tonight, and I’m so proud of you,” he said. “You will never regret what you have done here tonight.”

Approximately 95 people who came to see a basketball game left with more than just the short-lived thrill of a basketball game. They left with an everlasting relationship with Jesus Christ.
