Countless people are desperate to talk to someone who will listen to their concerns and questions about faith. Many call asking for prayer for themselves, family, or friends. Some reach out after hearing Franklin Graham’s latest one-minute Gospel ad during a commercial break on TV.

Since the prayer line began in March 2020—at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic—over 15,000 callers have indicated that they have started a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
“The impact goes farther than we can ever see,” said Wyleah Blohm, assistant director of the prayer line, as she shared recent stories of God at work.
Forging a New Path
Addicted to drugs, alcohol, and pornography, Thomas* felt hopeless and was afraid that he was too far gone to be saved by God.
He recently started attending church, and in a moment of desperation, Thomas opened his Bible to find a card with the prayer line number written on it. He knew it wasn’t a coincidence and that he had to call.
A BGEA representative encouraged Thomas that he is not out of God’s reach and that no sin can separate him from the love of Christ. Thomas prayed to accept Jesus into his heart, and the two celebrated his new walk with the Lord.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” —2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV
Hope for the Grieving
In response to Franklin Graham’s Gospel ad on TV, Dion* phoned the prayer line number at the bottom of the screen. He was wrestling with the death of his father and had questions about faith.
One of our representatives helped him walk through his grief and pointed to the peace God offers us in His Word.
Dion decided to follow Christ and wrote the date of his decision in his Bible as a testimony of God’s grace in his life. He also shared the prayer line number with his mother who is struggling and in need of the hope of Jesus Christ.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28, ESV
Comfort in the Valley
Maya* battles drug addiction and carries trauma from being a former victim of human trafficking. Now living with her parents and attending church, Maya called the prayer line, yearning to be freed from the weight of her past.
She spoke with one of our team members who prayed for deliverance from Maya’s dark valley and for trust in God as He guides her through it. Maya decided to follow Jesus Christ and was encouraged to share the decision with her pastor so that other believers can come alongside her as she draws near to the Lord.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” —Psalm 23:4, ESV
