U.S. Health Secretary Alex Azar Meets with Franklin Graham, Talks Prayer

On Thursday, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar visited Charlotte, North Carolina, headquarters of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Franklin Graham called it “a privilege” to meet with Azar, who talked to Graham and others responsible for heading up the Samaritan’s Purse field hospitals in New York and Italy. Billy Graham chaplains also served at the hospitals.

“It was good to get an update from him on where our country stands with the pandemic and for him to hear some of our experiences treating COVID-19 patients,” Graham said. “Pray for Secretary Azar as he leads a very large and strategic department that works to save lives and preserve health.”

Azar commented that anytime he hears of people praying for him and other Health Department staff, “It heartens us. It gives us strength.”

“I do believe in the power of prayer,” he said.
