Watch Live: Esperanza CDMX Festival with Franklin Graham
Journalists from more than 50 local and national Mexico news outlets attended Friday’s press conference ahead of this weekend’s Esperanza CDMX (Mexico City Festival of Hope) with Franklin Graham.
“We’re here this week to share the Gospel,” said Franklin Graham. “Out of 22 million people, very few know that God loves them and is willing to forgive their sins.”
Joining the evangelist on Saturday, Feb. 17, and Sunday, Feb. 18 will be Christian musical artists Marcos Witt, Miel San Marcos, Michael W. Smith, Redimi2, Nadia, and Dennis Agajanian.
Franklin Graham is returning to Mexico City one year after the historic, two-night outreach at Arena CDMX. Last February, more than 52,000 people attended the event and over 6,000 people made decisions for Christ.
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) is working with more than 2,000 evangelical churches for the outreach. The free, family-friendly evening will begin at 6 p.m. on both days.

Approximately 500 of the churches are new to this year’s Festival, not having participated last year.
“The spirit of unity that Esperanza CDMX Festival has awakened among all the evangelical churches is amazing,” said Franklin Graham. “Unity unleashes an unparalleled power in the church of Christ.”
Churches have arranged for more than 900 buses to transport people to this weekend’s event. Members have invited friends and family who are not yet followers of Jesus Christ—and are praying they will fill at least 50 percent of the seats.
Three months ago, BGEA returned to the country in the aftermath of the most powerful hurricane ever to make landfall on the country’s Pacific coast. Chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) ministered in Acapulco following the Category 5 that storm that killed dozens of people and left thousands homeless. Countless roads and businesses were also destroyed.
Mexico has a great need for the Lord and the hope He gives.
At the news conference, Franklin Graham explained why chaplains came.
“We’re neighbors,” he said, referring to the country’s proximity to the U.S. “Neighbors should be concerned and be willing to help.”
This weekend, the evangelist will share a life-changing message in the capital city that gives peace and joy in any circumstance and leads to eternal life in Heaven.
“The message we bring is a message of hope—Good News that God loves sinners. He is willing to forgive sin,” said Franklin Graham.
“Monday morning, there will be hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people that will wake up a new person, sins forgiven, with a new life, a new beginning in front of them,” he continued.
“There will be great joy in the churches throughout Mexico City.”
