Prayer, Love of Christ at Heart of RRT’s Deployment to Dallas

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (RRT) is offering emotional and spiritual care in Dallas, Texas, after an EF3 tornado devastated a 15-mile stretch of the community on October 20.
Thankfully no lives were lost in this natural disaster, although many injuries were reported. Some residents made it to safety just as their roofs collapsed from the twister that touched down with winds reaching 140 mph.
Chaplains are sharing the love of Jesus alongside Samaritan's Purse, which is helping residents with recovery efforts in the northern part of this major metropolitan area.
Chaplains spend a lot of their time just listening as residents describe the things they've experienced.
Figuring out next steps—who to call, what to ask—can be a daunting and often exhausting task.
Sometimes just sharing a funny story and a good laugh can be enough to brighten the day.
Praying together is another way the chaplains help carry their Texas neighbors to the feet of Jesus.
Rain poured over the North Dallas area in the days following the tornado.
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way," God's Word declares in Psalm 46:1-2.
Please continue to pray for this community as the residents navigate next steps in the recovery process.
