Franklin Graham took a couple of minutes on Jan. 20 to read Scripture at the inauguration of America's 45th president, Donald Trump. One reading was from 1 Timothy 1:17: "Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen."

Franklin Graham's first reading from the Bible came from 1 Timothy 2:1-6 (NIV), which states: "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

A day before the inauguration, Franklin Graham's daughter, Cissie Graham Lynch, led a prayer for millennials during a special prayer event at Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. She was one of several who lifted up the nation in prayer.
“Dear God, I lift up a generation who seeks truth," she prayed, with others from her generation standing behind her. "Lord, I pray that they proclaim Your Name boldly and will not be ashamed for the Name of Jesus Christ."
