Crisis-trained chaplains with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team are offering emotional and spiritual care alongside sister ministry Samaritan's Purse in the New Orleans area in the wake of devastating tornadoes.
As many as four tornadoes touched down last week, injuring many and causing widespread property damage. Fortunately, nobody was killed in the natural disaster.
Shortly after the storms, Franklin Graham, president of BGEA and Samaritan's Purse, posted on his Facebook page: “We will be helping families pick back up after the storms destroyed so much… As our staff and volunteers help in Jesus’ name, we want storm victims to know that ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble’ (Psalm 46:1).”

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency in the aftermath of the tornadoes and has requested federal assistance.
