PHOTOS: Chaplains Respond to Flooding in Wisconsin, Illinois
Crisis-trained chaplains with the
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team
deployed first to
Southeastern Wisconsin
, then
Northeastern Illinois
in July as heavy rain flooded the areas. Here, chaplains take a moment to pray with locals after floodwaters damaged several neighborhoods.
Sometimes just being there is all people need, especially in the midst of crisis.
One chaplain, Bob Poff, said many have lost possessions and have damage to their homes and businesses. "We ask for prayer for them as they're going through this trauma in their lives," he said.
Lending a listening ear is an important part of a chaplain's job.
Chaplain Al New prays with a local resident. Rapid Response Team chaplains are trained to provide emotional and spiritual care to those affected by natural or man-made disasters, and to offer prayer to anyone who may want it.
Please
pray for the Rapid Response Team
as they continue offering comfort, prayer and the
hope of Jesus
to these Wisconsin and Illinois communities.
