Q:

Does God reveal things through dreams and visions?

A:

The Bible indicates that God revealed His will to selected people through dreams or visions in Scriptures such as Genesis 37:5-10; 1 Kings 3:5-15; Daniel, chapters 2 and 7; Matthew 1:20; 2:13,19; and Acts 10:9-16; 16:9.

God may communicate through dreams or visions even today, but we need to carefully check any such guidance we receive with Scripture and godly counsel to be sure it is from the Lord. Anything which contradicts Scripture is not from God. Our minds and even Satan are capable of producing great deception in such subjective areas.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 shows that God has revealed His will to us primarily through His Word. It says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

My son has always said he was with God before he was born. when he was he said when he turns 7 he will go to heaven to see God.Well, his birthday he woke up & said I had the best dream. I saw Gods house and his room has a big round mirror on the floor so he can see all the people. He said it’s more beautiful than earth. He said God looks just like Jesus only taller and his hair is a little longer. He said God told him to always listen to his parents. He is almost 8 now and has these dreams a few nights a week. He usually doesn’t talk about it but he asked one day, mom I wonder why everyone celebrates every night when i go to heaven. He has told stories about his grandpa he didn’t know and he is a wonderful kid.

I keep having a dream that I’m visiting this church that’s about 2 hours away and I sort of feel like it keeps coming up through just random things like Facebook and talks with friends… Am I being led to go visit this church? It’s just confusing because it’s a different denomination than the church I am a member of and due to the denomination of my church my pastor would more than likely condemn my visit as it conflicts with that church’s beliefs..

You should not worry about the pastor, nor should you worry about the church’s belief. God tells us to follow Christ, not a church or pastor. Attend the church that is Jesus-centered and teaches Scripture.

months ago i had a dream i can’t remember the whole dream. at the end of my dream it was like i was in a back of a truck and this man walked up and leaned against the truck he had blondish beard and long hair resembling Jesus.. He said” come you know why i’m here”… I started to cry and he said ” you need to come with me God needs you’… then i woke up and can’t get this dream off my mind wondering why i woke up before i could find out why God needed me… It was so real i can’t talk about the dream without crying…

Maybe that’s all you’re supposed to know at this time… How did you feel when he told you that/when you woke up?

It is true that Dream and visions from God will not contradict his word.
We must refer to the word of God and check if whether dream is from God. Thanks for information. Amen
