Q:

I don't want to offend you, but why should I bother with God? My life is going along just fine without Him. In fact, He'd probably make me stop doing a lot of things I enjoy doing if I did turn to Him.

A:

Let me ask you a question: What do you suppose would happen to you if God didn’t “bother” with you? In other words, what would happen to you if God forgot all about you or ignored you or refused to have anything to do with you?

I’ll tell you what would happen: Your life would end immediately, before you finished reading this sentence. We are dependent on God for everything, and because He loves us, He supplies us with absolutely everything we need for our lives. He not only created the world and gave us the physical laws by which it operates, but He also actively sustains everything in it—including us. The Bible says, “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17).

Yes, you can leave God out of your life—but why would you? Don’t be deceived; life isn’t always going to be the way it is right now for you. Someday sickness or loneliness or death will catch up with you. Why wait until then to turn to God? The Bible warns, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12, NKJV).

I urge you instead to discover just how much God loves you. He not only takes care of you, but He sent His Son into the world to give His life for your salvation. Don’t ignore Him any longer, but open your life to Christ today. The Bible says, “How shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?” (Hebrews 2:3).

Find out how much God loves you.

As a young teen growing up in Washington DC, all I and my sisters and brothers wanted to do during the summer was to get out of the house and hangout with friends. Our parents didn’t mind that, but there were rules in the house, and those same rules applied when we were away from home. Our father was a great influence in our lives. No matter what our agenda was in the summer months, there was a time each summer we all had to be home sitting in front of the television watching the Billy Graham Crusade. We didn’t like it, but it was one of many rules that helped shape the future of our family. We are all in ministry now. Pastor, Evangelist, Bible Teacher, Lay Ministers and leaders in the church we came to love God and Evangelist Billy Graham. Thank you.

I turned to God watching Rev. Billy Graham giving one of his sermons on TV. When Rev. Graham call to receive Christ, I did! That was about 16 years ago; and today, I am a better person because I received Christ! Thank you, Reverend Billy Graham, God Bless you. AMEN!

My son, age 34, says he believes that Jesus died on the cross for his sins, and he even prays, but does not know the bible or care to read it. (He does have trouble reading). He only knows what I share with him. He says he has prayed and asked Jesus into his heart, but does not walk with Him and even though he knows that God has answered his prayers on many occasions, he still chooses to live a sinful lifestyle. How can I pray for my son, so that God will change his heart?
