I think you know the answer: No, of course this isn’t the way a Christian is supposed to act, whether in business or anything else. Jesus said, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

Only God knows this individual’s heart, of course, and whether or not he has sincerely put his faith and trust in Jesus. But the Bible is clear: When we commit ourselves to Christ, our lives must change. This doesn’t mean we’ll suddenly become perfect—because we won’t, not until we go to be with Christ in Heaven. Right now sinful desires still live within us, and Satan will do everything he can to pull us away from God’s will.

But when we come to Christ and open our hearts and lives to Him, He comes to live within us by His Holy Spirit—and we will never be the same. We’ll no longer be comfortable with our old sinful ways, and we’ll want to turn from them and seek God’s will for our lives. The Bible says, “Just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do” (1 Peter 1:15).

Thankfully most Christians aren’t like this man, and my prayer is that you won’t let his bad example keep you from Christ. Christ alone is worthy of your faith and trust, for He alone was willing to give His life for your salvation. Invite Him into your life today.
