Have you ever asked yourself why you always go along with the crowd and give in to their pressure? I urge you to answer this question honestly; it could be the first step toward getting your life under control.
Only you can answer it, of course—but I suspect one reason is because you want to be liked, and you’re afraid that if you say “No” and don’t go along with your friends, they will reject you. But doing things just so others will like you is a dangerous path to take—as you’ve discovered. And in any case, are these really the kind of friends you want to have, if they are willing to put you at risk? The Bible warns, “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character'” (1 Corinthians 15:33).
The most important thing I can tell you, however, is this: God loves you, and He cares what happens to you. He cares so much that He was willing to send His Son into the world to die for you. You are never alone when you know Christ, and He wants to be your friend. Why not ask Him to come into your life right now?
Then ask God to help you find new friends—Christians who will help you grow stronger spiritually, and will encourage you to do what is right. Don’t stay on your present path any longer, but by a simple prayer of faith turn your life over to Christ. It is the most important decision you will ever make.
