“This community has been ravaged,” said a Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplain serving in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Thousands in this mountainous village were ordered to evacuate in mid-June due to wildfires that burned over 25,000 acres. Less than two weeks later, more evacuation orders were in place following catastrophic flooding that eroded the ground and swept tractor-trailers off the highway.
“I have noticed that when we talk to a homeowner, they are bound up inside with angst and nervousness,” the chaplain said. “As we start to share, … they feel more relaxed. You can tell that the Holy Spirit is working on them.”
>>Please pray for the people in Ruidoso, and for the chaplains who are sharing the hope and comfort of Jesus Christ.
