Following Hurricane Helene, the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina, has paused ministry events to serve as a hub for relief efforts. While The Cove sustained minor damage in the storm, staff have opened the doors to serve those assisting disaster-torn communities in the mountains of the Tarheel State.
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains, Samaritan’s Purse volunteers, and North Carolina Highway Patrol officers are receiving hot meals and lodging while they use The Cove as a home base for their operations.
These groups “are all here … to minister and help meet the needs of Western North Carolina,” said Will Graham, executive vice president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. “We’re trying to serve them and take care of them,” he said. “We’re so grateful.”
