“It’s absolutely heartbreaking what’s going on here,” said Josh Holland, standing beside the Swannanoa River in Buncombe County, North Carolina.

Hurricane Helene killed more than 70 people in this area, and others are still missing.

“Up and down this river for miles there’s hundreds of homes that are just gone,” said Holland, international director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT).

BG-RRT chaplains are ministering to heartbroken communities in multiple states impacted by the historic storm, which has claimed over 200 lives across the Southeast.

“We try to come alongside people on the worst day of their life and offer prayer, a shoulder to lean on, [and] support to people who need to know God loves them during their most difficult days,” Holland said.

Please keep this region in prayer as residents grieve loss of life and face hundreds of miles of devastation.
