“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” —John 10:27, ESV
We are blessed to live in a country where we have religious freedom and can take part in the election process. But when you cast your vote this year, are you prepared to do so confidently?
On her latest Fearless podcast episode, Cissie Graham Lynch reminded listeners about the importance of the upcoming election, urging them to think critically—and Biblically—before casting their vote.
“God has setup clear principles that we must follow,” Lynch said in the episode.
“Many of the American voters have become like sheep,” she said. “They are following what a select few say … all the way to the ballot box.”
We need to know what we believe and why we believe it, she added —and examine who we’re allowing to influence our decisions.
“Where do you get your news from? Who do you listen to when you are doing research?” Cissie asked. “If your answer is social media, friends, family, or only one major news channel, I’m going to challenge you to search further sources.”
Are you confident your opinions are grounded in truth, rather than the loud and popular voices of culture?
Fact-checking and doing careful research around 2024’s election can have a lasting effect on our nation’s future.
“We are all called to be the sheep who follow the one and only true Shepherd,” Cissie said. “And we have to know His voice to be able to follow it.”
As you make decisions this season about what’s best for your family, community, and even for our country, cling to this reminder from Joshua: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
Hear more as Cissie shares some helpful tools for staying informed—and encourages us to remain centered on Jesus’ truth in a world full of lies.
