Ruth Bell Graham’s Mountain Pie Recipe

Similar to a dump cake, this simple recipe takes just a few minutes to put together and tastes best warm.

Mrs. Graham’s Mountain Pie

Ingredients:

1 cup flour

1 ½ tsp. baking powder

1 cup sugar

½ tsp. salt

¾ cup milk

1 stick butter

Can of sweetened cherries or berries—or fruit pie filling

Ice cream (optional)

Instructions:

1. Melt butter in ovenproof glass dish.

2. Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and milk.

3. Pour batter over butter.

4. Add can of cherries, berries, or fruit pie filling (pour on top of batter). Do not stir!

5. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Serving tip: Delicious topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
