Franklin Graham praying

It may have been a prayer for America as a whole, but Franklin Graham wasn’t going to miss the chance to speak to each viewer personally about the most important decision of their lives.

During a Facebook Live prayer event Monday, the first day of the Republican National Convention, Franklin Graham led tens of thousands of online viewers in praying for our country, the convention and presidential candidates.

He’ll take to Facebook a second time on Monday, July 25 at 2 p.m., ahead of the Democratic National Convention.

Yet even as he prayed for the country this week, he also took time to look straight into the camera Monday and ask each person watching if their future is secure in Jesus Christ. If not, or if they weren’t sure, he said, they could make that decision right then.

He led them in a prayer of repentance and faith, then offered a number they could text so the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association can follow up with spiritual growth resources.

Hundreds texted in, indicating commitments to Jesus.

“My 4-year-old just prayed with you on Facebook and asked Jesus into her heart!” one woman wrote after the event.

“I’ve fallen away from God, but prayed this prayer today. I need prayer for strength!” wrote another.

Several others also responded, some saying they’ve been struggling not only with tragic events around the country but in their own homes—family issues, finances, grief and addiction—struggles that have been impacting their faith:

“I want to give my life back to God so that I may live the life He chose for me.”

“I was going through doubt of my salvation. Thank you for this!”

“Today I renewed my faith in God. I’ve struggled time and time again with my faith and I want God to take the reigns. I want this relationship with God.”

Would you like to have a relationship with God, too? Start your life with Him today.

Join Franklin Graham on Facebook Monday, July 25, at 2 p.m. as he leads the nation in prayer before the Democratic National Convention.
