Dear Friend,
“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3, NKJV).
In our nation today, the foundations are clearly being eroded. Religious freedoms are being trampled. The will of the people is being overridden by unelected progressive judges, and we’re seeing the rights of Christians limited or taken away all across the country.
Yet America is still considered a democracy, and Christians—if we are willing to stand—can bring about change. It’s time to let the politicians know that we have a voice and we’re going to be heard.
The underlying problem is a spiritual problem. We have taken our eyes off Almighty God.
In 2016 I will be going to all 50 states with the Decision America Tour. I’m going to preach the Gospel at each stop, call on believers to pray for our nation, and remind the church that “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). I will not be endorsing any candidates, but I will speak out on issues that involve moral and biblical values.
What needs to happen in America begins with the human heart. A candidate in the current presidential campaign recently answered a question on how to bring about lasting transformation in our society: “Look, I don’t believe you change hearts. I believe you change laws.” But we know that real and lasting change for any person or any nation is possible only when hearts are changed by the Gospel. Never forget the immense worth God places on a human soul—so much that He was willing to sacrifice His own Son.
This is why we launched the nationwide My Hope outreach three years ago, and it is why we have produced another powerful, new My Hope evangelistic film for this year, called Value of a Soul. It will be available beginning October 15 for you and your church to use.
Churches have reported tens of thousands of people across America who have turned to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith as a result of My Hope films. We give God all the glory, and we are asking Him to touch many more hearts through Value of a Soul. We want it to be available to anyone in the country who will use it to share Christ, and we count on your financial support as well as your prayers for this outreach. Be sure your pastor knows about the new film and about how God has been working through My Hope.
Next month I will preach the Gospel at a Crusade in Fortaleza, Brazil, and the following month in Tokyo, Japan. Pray for these two nations, and pray for America.
May God richly bless you,
Franklin Graham
President
