It’s never easy to go against the grain.
As a Christian and daughter of Franklin Graham, Cissie Graham Lynch knows how challenging boldness can be and the fears that arise in difficult circumstances. Now she’s sharing her journey on a new podcast called Fearless, created in partnership with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
“We live in a society that’s ever-compromising,” Cissie said. “I want to help give Christians practical ways to live out their faith and be unapologetic of the Gospel.”
Through her podcast, she’ll break down tough Biblical topics and share personal stories, including lessons she’s learned from her family and working in their various ministries.
“There have been times in my life I’ve had to take a stand unpopular with people around me,” she said. “I’ve been fortunate enough to have a dad set an example before me of being bold and fearless in faith.”
Growing up as a Graham, the 33-year old—and mother of two—reflects on a memorable time when she found herself having to stand up for the Gospel.
As a student at Appalachian State University, she often found herself to be the only conservative Christian in the classroom who spoke up for her beliefs.
“It was very lonely and intimidating, but if you go in obedience, God’ll give you that confidence [to say] ‘I’m not backing down to this world. The world’s gonna push me around, but I stand confident in Jesus,'” Cissie said.
“You know, when you stand for Jesus, you will be a stench in the world’s nose and they will hate it, but for me, … bring it on,” she continued. “I believe the Lord honors those who fearlessly honor Him.”
Recognizing that “fear doesn’t have an age category,” she hopes this podcast will be an encouragement to people from all generations.
“Now I see more and more Christians afraid to speak up. I want to help people be able to stand strong in their faith and not back down when the world tells us to. We as Christians can live our faith in a loving, uncompromising way and stand for truth and not apologize for it, and I want to help give people the courage to do that.”
