Residents of Florida’s Panhandle are recovering from a triple hit on May 10.
Three twisters moved through the Tallahassee area during the morning rush hour. The storms left downed trees, tangled power lines, and tore roofs off buildings.
According to news reports, one woman died after a tree crashed into her home. Numerous homes and businesses were damaged, and an estimated 70,000 people lost power in the storm.
The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) deployed to Tallahassee to offer comfort and spiritual support to this ravaged community.
“The devastation from this storm is hard to believe,” said Josh Holland, international director of BG-RRT. “Between the damaged homes and businesses, the downed power lines, and the mass of uprooted trees, the area is in complete disarray. Many are hurting badly.
“Our crisis-trained chaplains are providing emotional and spiritual care—the hope and peace of Jesus—to those who have lost so much.”
