A sunny day in Greenfield, Iowa, took a turn for the worse as a fatal tornado ripped through the city on Tuesday afternoon.
The storm killed at least four people—including one woman who died after the raging winds blew her car off the road. More than 30 others sustained injuries.
“Much of the town was destroyed,” Franklin Graham posted on Facebook. “These families need our prayers.”
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) chaplains are in Greenfield to offer the devastated community emotional and spiritual support.
A Mobile Ministry Center is also available to provide a comfortable space for chaplains to encourage and pray with people as they begin to grapple with the tragedy.
“We grieve with those in Greenfield whose friends and loved ones perished in the tornado on Tuesday,” said Josh Holland, international director of BG-RRT. “Chaplains are coming alongside those affected by the storm to let them know that God hasn’t abandoned them in their time of need.”
>>Please pray for those who are grieving in Greenfield and for the chaplains as they comfort this community with the love of Jesus Christ.
