The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove is a Bible training and retreat center tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina.
In addition to a full slate of seminars, personal spiritual retreats and other events, The Cove is scheduled to host 16 concerts in 2014.
New faces this year include Chris August, David Phelps, and Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, while the Irish band Rend Collective Experiment will return to The Cove for a second year in a row.
The Cove will also host returning favorites Point of Grace, Brandon Heath, Sara Groves, Fernando Ortega, NewSong, Jason Crabb, Phil Keaggy, Michael Card and Cliff Barrows.

An Evening at The Cove
This popular event, which began in 2007, combines delicious food with an uplifting concert. Tickets include a gourmet buffet dinner. Optional overnight lodging at one of The Cove’s two inns is available in most cases. There are also some “concert only” tickets available for select events.
An Evening at The Cove with David Phelps – MOVED TO JUNE 30, 2014 – A member of the legendary Gaither Vocal Band, David Phelps will hold his first Evening at The Cove this year. Phelps has shared his incredible voice with audiences in Carnegie Hall and The White House. After weather cancelled his February concert date, Phelps will now perform June 30.
An Evening at The Cove with Brandon Heath, Thurs. March 27, 2014 – Nashville native Brandon Heath is known for thought-provoking songs like “Give Me Your Eyes,” “Your Love,” “Jesus in Disguise” and his latest hit, “Love Does.” Heath has been honored with multiple GMA Dove awards and five Grammy nominations. In March, he’ll bring his guitar to The Cove for a night of uplifting music.
An Evening at The Cove with Chris August, Sat. May 10, 2014 – Contemporary Christian artist Chris August is making his first visit to The Cove this spring. The GMA Dove award-winning singer, songwriter and keyboardist is known for hits like “Starry Night,” “Center of It,” and “Restore,” a song about protecting and healing a broken marriage.
An Evening at The Cove with Michael Card, Sun. June 15, 2014 – Prolific singer/songwriter Michael Card is known for penning time-honored worship songs like “El Shaddai” and “Emmanuel.” Over the course of his 30-year career, Card has recorded 31 albums and authored or co-authored 24 books. Although he’s best known for his music, the Tennessee native considers teaching the Bible to be his most important calling.
An Evening at The Cove with Phil Keaggy, Sat. July 19, 2014 – One of the most respected guitarists in the United States, Phil Keaggy will once again delight a Cove audience with his musical giftings. Keaggy’s career spans more than 30 years and includes more than 50 vocal and instrumental albums and numerous GMA Dove awards. Keaggy says he has a calling to deliver the Gospel through music.
An Evening at The Cove with Rend Collective Experiment, Sun. Aug 3, 2014
This upbeat Irish band continues to garner worldwide recognition as a unique collective of multi-instrumentalists. Calling their music “homemade worship by handmade people,” Rend Collective prefers to skip the studio and record their songs in the living room of two of the band members. The group has toured with Chris Tomlin, MercyMe, Tenth Avenue North and Lecrae. In August, they’ll visit The Cove for the second time in two years.
An Evening at The Cove with Mark Schultz, Sun. Aug. 17, 2014 – The Cove is excited to host Mark Schultz for an Aug. 17 concert. (Note: This date was originally scheduled as a Laura Story concert.) Schultz is a Dove award-winning artist whose popular songs like “All Things Possible” and “Love Has Come” have struck a chord with listeners. Schultz recently released an album called Hymns, which features new takes on favorite classics.
An Evening at The Cove with Jason Crabb, Sun. Sept. 21, 2014 – Grammy and Dove award-winning artist Jason Crabb will return to the mountains of North Carolina this September for “An Evening at The Cove.” The versatile singer/songwriter/guitarist has had hit songs in the Gospel, country and bluegrass world. Known for hits like “Who Am I” and “Love is Stronger,” Crabb has performed in Carnegie Hall and was part of Billy Graham’s last Crusade, in New York City in 2005.
An Evening at The Cove with NewSong, Fri. Oct. 12, 2014 – Autumn is arguably the most beautiful season at The Cove, as the trees of the Blue Ridge Mountains change to brilliant reds and oranges. In October, the members of NewSong will share their uplifting worship music with the colorful backdrop of The Cove’s fall foliage. The founders of Winter Jam are known for songs like “One True God,” “Swallow the Ocean,” and “The Christmas Shoes.”
An Evening at The Cove with Fernando Ortega, Sun. Nov. 2, 2014 – Accomplished pianist and singer/songwriter Fernando Ortega will once again host “An Evening at The Cove” this fall. The New Mexico native and Dove award-winning artist has recorded 17 albums including his most recent record, Come Down, O Love Divine. Ortega is known both for his original songs and his interpretations of familiar favorites like “Give Me Jesus,” which he once recorded as a tribute to Billy Graham’s late wife, Ruth Bell Graham.
Christmas at The Cove
Christmas at The Cove is one of the most popular events of the year, as the already-beautiful mountain retreat lights up to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Guests who attend this special event enjoy a festive Christmas dinner followed by an evening of joyous worship music.
Christmas at The Cove with Cliff Barrows and Friends Featuring The Collingsworth Family

Cliff Barrows, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s longtime music and program director, has shared the Gospel around the world with Billy Graham since the team’s first Crusade in 1949. He has also hosted The Hour of Decision, BGEA’s weekly radio program, since its first broadcast in 1950. Mr. Barrows, now 90 years old, has been inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame and the Religious Broadcasting Hall of Fame (NRB). For three nights this December, he’ll join award-winning musical group, The Collingsworth Family, for a night of celebration and worship at Christmas at The Cove.
Christmas at The Cove with Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, Thurs. Dec. 11, 2014 – This upbeat, energetic Southern Gospel quartet earned the nickname “Ambassadors of Joy” while touring Europe, as they spread the contagious hope and joy of Jesus Christ. The Grammy-nominated and Dove award-winning group has collaborated with The Gaither Vocal Band and topped several Billboard Music Video charts. When Ernie Haase and Signature Sound visit The Cove for the first time this December, their entertaining Gospel music will have visitors on their feet and singing along.
Christmas at The Cove with Point of Grace, Fri. Dec. 12, 2014 – This talented trio will return to The Cove in 2014 for a special Christmas performance. Point of Grace has been a mainstay in the world of contemporary Christian music for 20 years, winning multiple GMA Dove awards for country and Christmas albums. These harmonizing moms, wives and artists will once again grace the stage of The Cove’s 460-seat auditorium to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Christmas at The Cove with Sara Groves, Sat. Dec 13, 2014 – Singer/songwriter Sara Groves will share her lilting voice with The Cove for the final Christmas concert of 2014. The talented artist is passionate about justice, working with the International Justice Mission to advocate for victims of human trafficking. Groves has toured with Jars of Clay, Brandon Heath, Leeland and Sixpence None the Richer.
