My mother has had real problems with alcohol and is in an institution now. Does this mean I'm going to have problems also? I'm only 16, but I worry about this a lot because someone once told me that the Bible says every generation repeats the sins of the last generation. Is this true?

I'm about to give up on God. I've prayed and prayed for Him to take away my problems, but nothing has changed. Why doesn't God do something? I thought He was supposed to care about us.

Please pray that I'll know what to do with my niece. She's in her 30s and on drugs, and after her family kicked her out she moved in with me. But last week, she stole money out of my purse to buy drugs, and now I'm not sure she'll ever change. I guess I didn't realize how terrible drugs are.

I've been in a drug rehab clinic for six months and I'm due to get out in time for the holidays. I guess I'm looking forward to it, but frankly I'm also scared because I'm not sure I'll be able to stay off drugs once I get around my old friends. Please pray for me.

I went to the funeral of a friend the other day, and to my surprise it was a very inspiring and joyful service. Later, her daughter told me that her mother had planned the whole service several years ago. Have you ever heard of anyone doing this?

We had a major tragedy in our community recently when three teenagers were killed in a car accident. (It could have been prevented, but they were speeding and weren't wearing seat belts.) Since then, I've heard people say that God must've taken them home because their time to die had come, but how could that be, since the accident was their fault?
