True love puts the other person first, as Christ loves us

I grew up in a very unhappy home -- lots of conflict, plus verbal and physical abuse.
Answer
My father was very abusive and cruel, and I admit I've never gotten over this.
Answer
My father (who's gone now) was very abusive, never showing any love but always using violence to make us obey him.
Answer
My husband has always been an angry person, but recently he's turned very abusive and violent.
Answer
I know I'm supposed to trust God with my life, but I can't. I grew up in a very abusive situation and learned even as a child not to trust anyone. I wish I could get over this feeling, and I've tried, but I just can't. Does God understand the way I feel?
Answer
How can God give children to people and then let them abuse them? I don't understand how anyone could do this, but whenever I read about child abuse I always ask myself why God did it. Is it wrong for me to question God?
Answer
I know Jesus wants me to love everyone the way He does but I just can't do it. I was abused as a child, and I can't just wave a wand and have all those memories and emotional scars go away, can I? I guess God loves those who hurt me, but I can't go there.
Answer
Why do some people never seem to learn from their mistakes? I have a friend who got into a really abusive relationship with someone last year, and now she's about to fall into the same situation with someone else. I've tried to talk to her, but she just doesn't get it.
