Can you give me even one good reason to go to church? The last church I went to was so full of bickering that I left it in disgust. As it is, I just stay home and watch a church service on TV every week. What's wrong with that?

I've been approached about becoming an officer in our church and I don't know how to respond. My problem is, I don't feel like I'm all that good a Christian, and I think it might be hypocritical for me to be a church officer when I'm not very strong in my faith. What do you think?

How much money does God expect us to give to our church? We've been going through some hard times recently and aren't giving as much as we used to, but we don't want to risk doing something wrong.

Why doesn't anyone ever preach on the story I heard when I was in Sunday School, about the widow (I think) who was praised by Jesus although she gave very little to God's work? All I ever hear is preachers urging people to give more money, and frankly I get tired of it.

About this time of year, I just stop going to church for a few weeks because all they talk about is the church budget and how we need to give more. It'll be even worse this year since people aren't giving as much because of the recession. I don't think preachers ought to talk about money, do you?

Our mother always took us to church when we were young, but after our father left and our parents got a divorce, she became very bitter and stopped all that. She's gone now, but I'm wondering if the time has come for me to start taking my family to church. What do you think?

I have no doubt about my uncle's faith, and he's one of the finest men I know. But he's a very shy person and never goes to church. He says he just doesn't like crowds, and gets all the spiritual nourishment he needs by watching church services on television. Is he wrong?

I have a good friend who, I think, truly believes in Jesus, as do I. But she says she's afraid I won't be in heaven with her, because she believes her church is the only true church, and you have to belong to it in order to be saved. What can I say to her?

My sister is retired, and says she no longer goes to church because of her health. But I think the real reason is because she just doesn't want to go to all that trouble. She does watch a service on TV, but how can I convince her she needs to get back in church?

My parents got very upset with me when I decided to leave our old church. The reason I did it is because last year I gave my life to Jesus, and the church I'm going to now is really helping me grow spiritually. How can I explain this to them? I don't understand why they're so upset.
