The God Loves You Tour Is Heading to These Cities This Fall
This month through Oct. 2, Franklin Graham will travel to six cities on the
God Loves You Tour
, spanning 1,300 miles from Pennsylvania to Minnesota. Just two months ago, Franklin Graham spoke at the last stop of the God Loves You Tour U.K. in London (pictured here).
Starting in Allentown, Pennsylvania (pictured here), these one-day evangelistic events will include a Gospel message from Franklin Graham, a time of prayer for the spiritual needs of our nation, and worship with Newsboys, Marcos Witt,* and Dennis Agajanian.
*In select cities.
Stop 1: Allentown, Pennsylvania (Sept. 24).
The Liberty Bell was hidden from the British during the Revolutionary War in what is now downtown Allentown underneath a church.
Now the third largest city in the state, Allentown was a major contributor to the textile and automobile industries during the nation's economic boom in the 19th century.
Prayer Point:
Pray for a great harvest of souls, that thousands would come to faith in Jesus Christ.
Stop 2: York, Pennsylvania (Sept. 25).
Located just north of Baltimore, Maryland, the city of York is where Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation, the nation's first working Constitution. The York State Fair is also considered "America's First Fair," which took place in York City in 1765.
When Billy Graham visited York in 1940, he preached at the York Gospel Center. It was his first evangelistic event above the Mason-Dixon Line. The revival extended for a week.
Prayer Point:
Pray for true revival throughout churches in each tour city, and that pastors will preach God's truth.
Stop 3: Youngstown, Ohio (Sept. 27).
Youngstown was once well-known for its steel production. Since the industry's decline in the 1970s, the city has been making renovations to strive for a bright future.
More than 58,000 people call Youngstown home. In 1966, more than 37,000 people attended the Greater Youngstown Area Crusade with Billy Graham.
Prayer Point:
Pray for a renewed burden in the hearts of Christians to reach those who don’t know Jesus—and to see all people as the object of God’s great love.
Stop 4: Flint, Michigan (Sept. 29).
Known as "Vehicle City," Flint played a huge role in carriage and automobile manufacturing from the late 1800s to the mid-20th century.
According the U.S. Census Bureau in 2021, 37 percent of Flint's population is in poverty.
Prayer Point:
Pray that God will use His church to care for those in need—and give many a deep hunger for His Word and prayer.
Stop 5: Waukesha, Wisconsin (Oct. 1).
Located 15 miles west of Milwaukee and situated on the Fox River, the city was renamed for the Indian village Potawatomi’s term “By the Little Fox.” It later became a station for runaway slaves on the Underground Railroad.
Waukesha takes pride in being the birthplace of Les Paul, who invented the electric guitar.
During last year's Christmas parade, the city was struck by tragedy when six people were fatally hit by a SUV during a parade.
Chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team offered emotional and spiritual care to the devastated community in the days afterward.
“In these challenging times we find ourselves asking, 'Who am I? Why am I here? And does God care?'” said Dr. Guy Conn, pastor of Fox River Christian Church in Waukesha. “With a heart for people and the message of Jesus Christ, the God Loves You Tour offers hope and help to each and every one of us.”
Stop 6: Rochester, Minnesota (Oct. 2).
The third largest city in Minnesota boasts the Mayo Clinic, a top-rated hospital. Rochester is often ranked as one of the best cities in the nation to call home.
In 1883, a tornado destroyed most of Rochester, which eventually resulted in the building of the current city center.
"I believe this is where our nation’s backbone of hard work, grit, and determination lies, but so many people in our country are struggling," Franklin Graham said about the cities along the tour. "They’re looking for hope, peace, and purpose in their lives. We’re coming to remind everyone there is Good News! God loves us, and He sent His Son Jesus Christ to Earth to save us from our sins.”
