Photos: Many Thousands Hear Gospel at Romania Celebration with Will Graham
Will Graham brought
the Good News of Jesus Christ
to the Celebration of Hope in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Oct. 21-22. International Christian concert pianist Huntley Brown helped prepare hearts before Will's message. Huntley often leads worship at Will Graham and Franklin Graham Crusade events around the world.
The 1,500-strong choir of young people lifted up the Name of Jesus in a powerful way.
Will Graham is the third generation of Grahams to preach in Romania, following his grandfather, Billy Graham, and his father, Franklin Graham.
More than 32,000 people crowded into Polyvalenta Hall for the Celebration, including a dedication service the night before it began. Over 600 people responded to the Gospel message to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Cluj-Napoca is the second largest city in Romania behind Bucharest, the country's capital city.
"You're looking for purpose and peace," Will told the audience. "You aren't going to find them in the things of this world. You'll only find them in Jesus."
Aaron Shust and his band led thousands in a time of passionate worship.
Starting or coming back to
a personal relationship with Christ
is often an emotional time. Here, counselors share their joy with those who made this decision.
Each night as Will Graham offered an invitation to
receive Christ
, people began trickling toward the front. Soon there was a river of people seeking peace with God.
Taking it all in.
This talented group of local singers led the arena in worship.
Polyvalenta Hall was home to the Celebration.
Billy Graham preached at St. Michael's Church in Cluj-Napoca during a seven-city Romania tour in 1985.
"Praise the Lord! ... Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!" —Psalm 150, 1, 4
A counselor prays with a young man during the invitation.
Without prompting, many in the audience pulled out their phones to wave lights in the air while singing.
"Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!" —Psalm 115:1
"I'm here to give a warning," Will Graham said. "There's no neutral ground with Jesus. If you make no stand for Jesus, you make a stand against Jesus."
Praying for the Celebration beforehand. Church members and BGEA prayer partners covered this event in prayer long before it began.
Will you also pray for all those who received Christ in Romania, that these new and rededicated believers be discipled by fellow Christians?
