Every detail of the annual event is catered to a young audience, from colorful decorations to an age-appropriate Gospel message.
Tara McClary Reeves speaking
Author Tara McClary Reeves spoke during this year’s event. Her family has long been connected to the Graham family, ever since her father shared his testimony at a 1969 Billy Graham Crusade in Anaheim, California. In her message, Reeves recounted the Bible story from Matthew 14 that tells of Peter's walk on the water to meet Jesus. She reminded the children that Peter stepped out in faith, and only started to sink when he lost focus on his Savior.

Before taking the stage to share several Bible stories and read from her book The Knight and the Firefly, Reeves walked around to meet her lively audience.

Each kid took home a pair of sunglasses as a reminder to keep their eyes on the Son, Jesus Christ. “When we keep our eyes glued on Him, we don’t have to fear anything,” Reeves said.

While the family favorite event was sold-out this year, those who couldn’t attend in person watched a livestream on the Billy Graham Library’s Facebook page. More than 5,000 people have tuned in thus far.
