Decision Texas: The Lone Star Tour with Franklin Graham is a movement across seven cities, calling people to prayer for the state and nation, and letting them know that Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior of the world. Before Corpus Christi, Franklin Graham visited Lubbock and Midland.
Over 5,300 people attended Saturday's event at Whataburger Field as a breeze from Corpus Christi Bay, just behind the field, cooled the crowd.
“If just one sinner repented, tonight would be worth it,” Franklin Graham said. By the end, about 200 people came forward and more than 200 more texted in their decision to repent and let Christ lead their lives.
Crowder has led worship every night of the tour, rocking out on his banjo or guitar.
National and state leaders—"We have to pray for these people," Franklin said. Their decisions affect all of us, he added. At each stop, people are also praying for the military, law enforcement and others who protect us.
At the end of the night, Franklin left the crowd with one final thought: “If you don't remember anything else, remember this: God loves you.”
Corpus Christi means “body of Christ” in Latin. And what a privilege it was to see the body of Christ grow on Saturday night.
Corpus Christi, situated in southern Texas on the Gulf of Mexico, is known for its bays and beaches. This warm, sunny city was ripe to hear the Gospel this weekend.
“If you aren't sure that you're ready to stand before a holy God, I'm going to give you an opportunity to be sure,” Franklin said. A few moments later, he opened up that opportunity, inviting anyone forward who wanted to receive God’s free gift of salvation or be sure that they're saved.
Jesus Christ is worthy of our worship because He is the holy God of the universe. He offers not only eternal life but guidance in our everyday lives.
Decision Texas continues in San Antonio on Sunday, Round Rock on Monday, Waco on Wednesday and Longview on Thursday. Know anyone in the area? Share the details at Texas.BillyGraham.org.
