Billy Graham Library Hosts Medical Professionals
The
Billy Graham Library
in Charlotte, North Carolina, welcomed medical professionals to a special breakfast on March 10. Guests enjoyed a hot buffet breakfast, networking opportunities and
The Journey of Faith
tour.
The event gave many a chance to spend time with co-workers outside the office and to meet new people.
Dr. John Welshofer, a local doctor at Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine, shared his experiences as a medical missionary in Nicaragua. He challenged medical personnel to consider using their profession to help those in great need and share their
faith in Jesus
.
"A number of guests shared they could use some encouragement, and that their visit to the Library provided that," said Sonya Johnson, Library promotions manager.
After taking
The Journey of Faith
tour, one guest said it was “touching to experience the presence of Jesus.” Another said it
reassured her faith
.
This prescription was written by Ruth Bell Graham's father, Dr. L. Nelson Bell, for a patient in the 1940s. It reads, "Go to church every Sunday."
Billy Graham was raised on a dairy farm. The Library tour begins with an introduction from Bessie the talking cow.
The breakfast was held to honor those who work in the medical field. For many who came, it was their first visit to the Billy Graham Library.
Several people talked about bringing their families back to the Library.
One guest came all the way from Vancouver, Washington, on her way to a continuing education cruise for medical professionals.
