Cast Your Cares

Some section hands on a British railroad found a thrush’s nest under a rail. Peacefully sitting on her eggs, the hen was undisturbed by the roar of the fast trains above and around her. Someone has written a little verse which goes:

“Said the robin to the sparrow,
‘I should really like to know,
Why these anxious human beings
Rush about and worry so.’
Said the sparrow to the robin,
‘Friend, I think that it must be,
That they have no heavenly Father
Such as cares for you and me.'”

Jesus used the carefree attitude of the birds to underscore the fact that worrying is unnatural. I am learning in my own life, day by day, to keep my mind centered on Christ, and the worries and anxieties and concerns of the world pass, and nothing but “perfect peace” is left in the human heart. God has taken the responsibility for our care and worry.

Put your mind at ease with these Bible verses.

Prayer for the day

Lord Jesus, I'm happiest when I'm fully trusting You. This day help me to be constantly grateful for Your care and faithfulness.

  1. Warren says:

I’m so thankful for God using Bro. Graham to reach so many people for the Lord. I was one of them. I had backslidden from the Lord and was watching television one night in August of 1969. Mr. Graham came on with a crusade program. I remembered being so tired that I didn’t get up to change the channel. Thank God I didn’t have a remote. After watching the whole service Mr. Graham gave an invitation to come to the Lord and in his invite he said, “and you people there at home can know this Jesus I’m talking about” and before I knew it I was on my knees praying and asking Jesus to forgive me and thank God he did. I’ve been in the ministry 48 years and so blest of the Lord. God bless each of you.
