A Sacred Institution

The home is basically a sacred institution. The perfect marriage is the uniting of three persons—a man and a woman and God. This is what makes marriage holy. Faith in Christ is the most important of all principles in the building of a happy marriage and a successful home. The secret strength of a nation is found in the faith that abides in the hearts and homes of the country.

See what made Billy and Ruth Graham’s marriage so strong.

A strong marriage starts with God at the center.

Prayer for the day

May we so love one another, through You, Lord Jesus--that our homes will be reflections of the glory of Your inestimable love.

  1. Margareta Cronholm says:

Thank you Mr. Billy Graham. I am so happy to know that God’s will, will be done. In His time. All we can do is wait and obey our heavenly Father and praise the Lord.

  2. Richard holdhouser says:

Hate has entered my heart. It has destroyed me and my family. Satan has my soul and torments me everyday. I am destroyed.

  3. Gerry says:

I am reminded as I read this commentary by Billy that I am an extraordinarily blessed man. God introduced me to my lovely wife 44 years ago. The foundation of our wonderful marriage is our common belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He remains our solid anchor during both the good times and the difficult times in life. Despite our failures, He is always faithful to forgive. Thank you holy God for your incredible love and grace.

  4. Barbara Davis says:

My prayer is that The United States of America will come to it’s senses and like the prodigal son return to our Father God.

  5. Barbara says:

Please pray for my family as I deal with an very angry, bitter husband & 24 year old son. They are not believers and my husband runs me down because I am. I know God hears my prayers but I sometimes feel I’m being made to wait….but not sure for what. I don’t know if I should stay & keep praying or just leave and go it on my own, with God of course. Truly confused at this point. But I still believe God will work a miracle in my life. Just keep my family in your prayers and for my guidance & strength. Thank you.

    1. Joanna says:

Barbara, I am so sorry you are going through this. I to face difficultly with a husband who is a believer, but bears little fruit, and I struggle with the backlash I get for living to honor Christ. It has been a struggle for 44 years, but what has given me strength is the Word and particularly in Scripture that if your husband is obliged to stay, l with you, you should strive faithfully to live godly before him, and he might be saved. While I don’t feel honored here, I have to trust that I have a greater honor to look forward to. I also have an adult prodigal son that is tearing my heart out. I will purpose to remember to pray for you. I believe the Spirit will prompt me. God bless, my sister.

  6. Robyn says:

God for America? Yes! Only He will heal the ugliness…..for America…for Australia…for the whole wide beautiful world.

  7. Dave Toole says:

Today’s lesson hits me so hard as it always does because of how I sinned immorally all my life until 2 years ago. GOD stopped me,thankfully. Since childhood I loved Dr. Billy Graham. He is only one that preached that I ever trusted other than Lord Jesus Christ. But I think Franklin is just like his dad, thankfully. Could go on and on if had the chance because I really need biblical counseling but have a trust issue with pastors I’ve had. I want to start again giving to a church or a ministry like this one. Thanks and GOD’S Blessings. DT

  8. Michael J. Porter says:

I pray that America will come back to God’s will and intervening mercy and grace.
