The most important advice I can give you is to seek God’s will for your future. God loves you, and He knows what is best for you—so why not ask Him? The Bible says, “As for God, his way is perfect” (Psalm 18:30).
How can you discover His will? The starting point is to admit you need Him, and to ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and be your teacher and guide. Jesus came to erase the barrier between us and God—a barrier caused by our sin. When we admit we need Him and turn our lives over to Him, God forgives us and comes to live within us by His Spirit. Choosing your college was a major decision—but the most important decision you will ever make is to give your life to Christ. Invite Him into your life today.
Then ask God to guide you as you think about the future. College isn’t right for everyone—but don’t drop out of school just because you feel overwhelmed. Your classmates probably feel the same way!
Unless you’re certain God is leading you otherwise, therefore, I urge you to stay where you are. Ask Him to help you make friends and overcome your challenges. You’ll face new situations the rest of your life—so learn to deal with them now, with God’s help. In addition, seek out a Christian group on your campus. God’s promise is for you: “Do not fear, for I am with you. … I will strengthen you and help you” (Isaiah 41:10).
