Let me ask you a question: If you discovered a cure for cancer, what would you do with it?

I suspect I know the answer. You wouldn’t shove it in a drawer somewhere and forget all about it; no, you’d do all you could to get the word out about it. Hopefully, you wouldn’t do it for the money; you’d do it out of compassion, because you’d know that every day countless people would die without it.

This is one reason why we do all we can to reach others with the message of Christ. You see, the human race has a deadly disease–a spiritual disease in our souls. It is far more deadly even than cancer, because it can send us into an eternity without God. The Bible calls this disease “sin,” and our greatest need is to be cured of this disease.

But listen: God has provided the cure! That cure is Christ, who died on the cross to take away our sins and make us fit for heaven. The Bible says, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Ephesians 1:7). The word “Gospel” literally means “good news”–and that is what the Gospel is: Good News. I invite you to receive this good news for yourself by asking Christ to come into your life today. Then ask Him to help you tell others the good news about Christ as well.
