How do you know if God healed you of something or if it was the medicine? I've had some serious health problems during the last year, and now that they are behind me I don't know if my prayers were responsible or if it was because of the medical care I got.

Did it ever occur to you that the doctors and the medicines might have been the tools that God used to bring healing to you?

In other words, we shouldn’t think that faith in God and good medicine are opposed to each other, or that they don’t have anything to do with each other. God made the physical laws that govern the universe (including our bodies), and He also gave us our skills and abilities (including the ability to develop new treatments and new medicines). The Bible also says that through His Son, Jesus Christ, He continues to rule over the whole creation: “By him all things were created … and in him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:16-17).

The real question for you, however, is this: How should you react to what has happened to you? First, react with thankfulness. God answered your prayers, and He alone deserves the credit. The Bible says we should be “always giving thanks to God the Father for everything” (Ephesians 5:20).

Then react with commitment—commitment to seek God’s will and do it. Every day is a gift from God—a gift to be used for His glory. Don’t waste your life, but commit your life to Christ, and then ask Him to help you share His love with those around you every day.

I’ve had severe migraines my whole life. About 3 months ago I got a message, “You will have no more headaches,” and I haven’t. I’ve never gone more then 3-4 weeks, at most, without a migraine and it’s been 3 months now. I’m a new born again Christian and in awe! Can this be true?

Denise, we are so excited to hear about your decision to follow Christ! There are many stories in the Bible of people Jesus healed and even rose from the dead. This same power still exists today and it resides on the inside of us. The Bible says in Mark 16 that “signs” will follow those who believe, including laying hands on the sick “and they will recover.” Our prayer is you’ll use your story of no longer having migraines to help encourage others in their faith. We also pray your desire to grow closer to God and know more through His Word would continue.

I find it amazing how much people believe in Jesus when they are in trouble and or ill. Cry out to him and make tons of promises to him in exchange for health, healing, help etc. Then when they get what they ask for, they quit praying. Satan comes in and easily convinces them that God didn’t help them.. How easy was it for Eve to believe Satan? Jesus told people after he healed them. Go and sin no more least a worse thing come on you. Doubting God is a sin. And when we receive healing etc. and stop praying. We begin to doubt then worse things happen. We blame God who We chose to turn away from. Never considering we walked away from life and love to go back to doubt and fear… Our nation is full of unbelief…. God have mercy on us.
