Nowhere does the Bible teach that we will have a second chance after we die to turn to Christ and be saved. (Nor does it teach reincarnation–the belief that we will return to earth again and again, so we can have another chance after this life is over.)
In fact, it indicates that the opposite is the case. Instead, it says that what we do with Christ right now will determine our eternal destiny–either in heaven with God, or in hell separated from God forever. The Bible says, “man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
The same warning is found in one of Jesus’ parables, in which a rich man who had ignored God all his life died and went to hell. There he begged to be given even a few drops of water from heaven–but it was too late. He was told by the heavenly messenger, “between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us” (Luke 16:26).
These are sobering words, and I pray you will take them to heart. Don’t gamble with your soul–which is what you’re doing right now. Instead, by faith repent of your sins and ask Christ to forgive you today. Heaven’s door still stands open–don’t wait until it is too late.
