I’m thankful for all the discoveries and insights science has given us. Many of us (including me) wouldn’t even be alive today if it weren’t for advances in medicine and other branches of science.
But science doesn’t answer all our questions, nor can it ever do so — because some of life’s most basic questions are outside its scope. For example, scientists can speculate on how the universe was formed, but they can’t tell us the reason why it was formed. Nor can they tell us why we’re here, or how we should live, or what will happen to us when we die. In other words, science is limited; it can tell us what happens, but it can’t tell us the reason why it happens.
Only God can give us the answer to these questions — and has done so in the book He has given us, the Bible. I realize you may laugh at this right now, but have you ever read the Bible for yourself with an open mind and heart?
I invite you to do so — and when you do, you’ll discover not only that God exists, but also that He loves us and wants to come into our lives. More than that, you’ll discover who Jesus is, and that in Him “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3). Don’t let pride or anything else keep you from Him, because He alone can give us the answer to life’s deepest questions — both for this life, and the life to come.
