In the chaos after last month’s brutal terrorist attack at a concert in Manchester, one of our U.K. staff members named Lee learned that his niece—who had been at the concert—was unaccounted for. He left at once for Manchester to help search for her, and the next morning he found her in a hospital with injuries from being trampled during the panic at the concert arena. She is recovering.
While at the hospital, Lee met a man weeping in anguish. The man’s daughter Chloe was missing, and officials told him it was likely that she was among those who had died but not yet been identified.
When Lee offered to pray, the father reacted skeptically, but in his desperation he finally said, “It can’t hurt.” Lee prayed and asked for a miracle.
Later the same day, the man called to say that his daughter had been found—in critical condition, but alive. He asked Lee to meet him again for prayer. Lee then sent a prayer request to the entire staff of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse.
Chloe made it through seven hours of surgery and is slowly recovering.
When told that hundreds of people on both sides of the Atlantic had prayed for Chloe, her father burst into tears. He has now been connected with a local church in the Manchester area for follow-up and spiritual care. Lee is following up as well.
