An estimated 2,100 people joined Franklin Graham for a time of prayer during the Aug. 31 Decision America Tour stop in Rhode Island. "To have this many believers together is awesome," said Kevin Gagnon, a Rhode Island resident.
"Wow. What a crowd," Franklin Graham greeted Rhode Island as he took the stage.
Ruthann Lombardi, a native Rhode Islander, said she was encouraged to participate in the prayer rally. Earlier this year, she suffered a stroke after doctors found an aneurysm. Through it all, even learning to walk and talk again, she has never wavered in her faith.
Faithful Rhode Islanders lifted their hands in worship during the prayer rally.
"I love this country. I don't like where it's going. We've turned our backs on God," Kathy Simonini, a former specialist in the Army, said after the Decision America Tour stop in Rhode Island. "I'm here because I really believe that prayer makes a difference." Read more about her testimony.
God's Word declares, "And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith” (Matthew 21:22).
It was a beautiful day for all who attended the prayer rally.
"My hope is in Almighty God," Franklin Graham said during the prayer rally in Rhode Island. "He is the only hope for this nation."

Listening as Franklin Graham urges Christians to vote. "If we get complacent and sit back, we're going to lose this nation," he said.
Religious freedom is what Rhode Island was founded on, and what many celebrated by praying to God for this nation.
The word hope is on the state flag and the state seal. Nobody knows where it came from exactly, but many point to Hebrews 6:18-19.
Christians have a duty to pray, vote and engage, Franklin Graham told Rhode Islanders.

Diana Gagnon, a resident Rhode Islander, said it was important to her to attend the prayer rally, especially given the upcoming elections. "To me, Christ is our eternal hope so regardless of what happens here [this election year], we have a hope that is eternal," she said. "No one can take it away from us."
