Have you ever asked yourself why your friend hopes to get you to do these things? Is it just because he wants to win an argument with you? I doubt it.

Instead, I suspect the reason your friend is seeking to share his faith with you is because he believes something is missing in your life. He knows that on the surface you may look like you have it all together; perhaps you are successful, and seemingly have everything anyone could ever want. Your attitude may be like the rich man in Jesus’ parable who said to himself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry” (Luke 12:19).

But your friend also knows that down inside every one of us is an empty place in our hearts—a place only God can fill. God has filled that place in his life, and now he wishes you could have the same joy and peace he has experienced. He cares about you, and he knows your life would be far richer if you also came to know Christ. Be grateful for his concern!

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). Don’t let your pride or anything else keep you from Christ, but open your heart to Him today. Your life will never be the same.
