You may be surprised to discover that the Bible agrees with you; if someone is a real Christian, it should make a difference in the way he or she lives. The Bible says, “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead” (James 2:26).

Only God knows your boss’s heart and whether or not he’s truly committed to Jesus Christ. If he is, however, then he is not acting the way he should, for greed is a sin in the eyes of God. The Bible says, “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry” (Colossians 3:5). At the same time, Christians aren’t perfect; we still sin, and we still need God’s forgiveness—as do you.

Only one person was perfect—and that person was Jesus Christ. That’s why I pray that you will look at Him, and not simply at those who might claim to be Christians but fall short of what they should be. He was perfect because He was the Son of God, sent from heaven to save us from our sins.

Don’t let anything keep you from Christ. He alone gives us hope, both for this life and the life to come. He came to forgive us—and He will forgive you as well.
