Drone footage shows miles of charred homes and land as the Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, Woodley, Lidia, and Sunset fires rage uncontained across Southern California. The fires—spurred on by strong winds—have burned over 17,000 acres, forcing more than 130,000 Californians to evacuate.

Crisis-trained chaplains are offering emotional and spiritual support in shelters set up for those who have fled their homes.

“Pray for the hundreds of thousands of people affected and for the firefighters and first responders during this terrible crisis,” Franklin Graham shared on social media.

The Palisades fire—the largest of the blazes—began Tuesday and is burning on the west side of Los Angeles County.

“The images coming out of California look like scenes out of a Hollywood movie—yet they show the real-life horror that the people of the Los Angeles area are experiencing today. There’s been so much devastation already and the fires continue to burn,” said Josh Holland, international director of BG-RRT.

“We are assessing the needs of those who have been displaced by the largest fire this city has ever seen.”

Please pray for all those affected by these terrible fires, for the first responders as they work to contain them and stop further destruction, and for the chaplains who are ministering to them.
