Cissie Graham Lynch accompanied Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains as they ministered to homeowners in Boone, N.C.—her hometown—in the aftermath of Helene.

I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.
—Psalm 40:1-2, ESV

When storms rage around you, who do you turn to for help?

“Most people in a lifetime don’t go through such a devastating storm as we’ve seen in Hurricane Helene,” Cissie Graham Lynch said on her new Fearless podcast episode. “My kids in two years have gone through it twice.”

In September of 2022, her family faced Hurricane Ian in Florida. Now with her hometown of Boone, North Carolina, reeling from last week’s catastrophe, Lynch offered a word of encouragement: “God is good, even in the storms.”

“God doesn’t promise that we won’t go through storms,” Lynch shared. “He doesn’t promise that the floodwaters won’t rise, but what He does promise is ‘I will be with you.’”

Listen as Cissie shares powerful testimonies about finding peace in the midst of life’s tragedies.
