About 100 miles outside South Dakota’s capital of Pierre, Will Graham shared the Gospel with hundreds on the Rosebud Reservation. It’s one of two Native American communities where he preached during the Native Peoples Tour.
Rosebud’s grasslands are scattered with Ponderosa Pine forests, steep hills and deep ravines. The reservation on South Dakota’s southern border extends over 922,000 acres.
Sprinkled throughout the rodeo grounds were Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains, whose blue shirts and fluorescent vests made it easy to spot them in the crowd. The crisis-trained chaplains—who typically respond to disasters and tragedies—were available to pray with people facing their own daily stressors.
