After an outbreak of devastating tornadoes across the Midwest in late-April, the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) deployed to three of the hardest-hit towns: Minden, Iowa; Elkhorn, Nebraska; and Sulphur, Oklahoma. Here, chaplains pray with residents in Minden, where one person died and three others were injured.
News reports say about 40 percent of Minden—a suburb of Omaha, Nebraska—sustained damage. Dozens of homes in the 600-person community were destroyed by an EF3 tornado with wind speeds of up to 160 mph.
Crisis-trained chaplains listen as homeowners share stories of how the twister turned their lives upside down. Chaplains also offer the hope of Jesus Christ to those who don’t know Him. Have you built your life on Christ? Start here.
