Six Decades After Billy Graham Preached in New Zealand, Franklin Graham to Address a New Generation

In 1959, Billy Graham preached in New Zealand for the first time, stopping in Christchurch and Wellington, as well as Auckland where he addressed the largest crowd to ever attend religious meetings in the nation.

“The whole world is searching for truth,” he said as a fiery, young preacher.

Following his New Zealand Crusades, Billy Graham said from an airport tarmac, “We have come here only as [Christ’s] ambassador … to tell you that He is the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world. … And I hope that all of you will go back to your churches with a new vigor, with a new determination, with a new vision to live for Jesus Christ as never before.”

From Nov. 12–19, Franklin Graham will visit the same three cities for an evangelistic outreach called the God Loves You Tour—more than six decades after his father crisscrossed this beautiful, rugged landscape. The evangelist will deliver the same Gospel message to a new generation, one that is drifting in fear, uncertainty, and hopelessness in the aftermath of a global pandemic.

Jeremy Camp and The Afters will join Franklin Graham for the New Zealand God Loves You Tour Nov. 12 in Christchurch, Nov. 16 in Wellington, and Nov. 19 in Auckland. Pray that many will attend this free outreach and encounter the transforming love and power of Jesus Christ.
