Crisis-trained chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team are offering prayer at Samaritan’s Purse field hospitals in Los Angeles County, California, and Lenoir, North Carolina. They’re praying with patients, staff and volunteers during a scary, exhausting time for many.
Chaplain Damaris Scalzi recently shared how one COVID-19 patient came to know Christ at the California field hospital.
“She started to talk to me about how fearful she was of contracting COVID,” Scalzi said.
The woman was burdened by her past, but Scalzi shared how she could find forgiveness and new direction for her life.
“She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ right outside the ward. You could see over her face that she had a peace and an understanding that God was ready to receive her with love and forgiveness and His grace.”
Watch as Scalzi tells more of the story.
